We get asked all the time: what’s Georgia’s secret to that flawless tan?
As the Founder of Tandae, Georgia has tried every product, tested every technique, and perfected the art of a bronzed, radiant glow. And now, by popular demand, she’s sharing her full self-tan routine - step-by-step.
Whether you're preparing for a holiday, a big event, or just want to look and feel your best, here’s exactly how Georgia uses the Tandae Ultra Dark Tanning Mousse, Face Mist, and Oil-Free Body Cream to achieve her signature, streak-free tan.
Georgia's Self-Tan Routine:
Step 1: Remove Old Tan
Before you can glow, you’ve got to let go (of your old tan, that is).
“I always start by taking off my existing tan in the bath using something heavily oiled or a gentle exfoliator.”
This breaks down leftover product and creates a smooth, clean canvas for fresh application.
Step 2: Let Skin Breathe
Once exfoliated, Georgia gives her skin a moment to calm and recover.
“I wait around 30 minutes after my bath to let my pores close completely before I apply a new layer of tan.”
This reduces the chance of dark spots or clogged pores and helps the tan apply more evenly.
Step 3: Apply Tandae Ultra Dark Mousse
Now, it’s time for the glow-up.
Georgia starts with a full layer of the Tandae Ultra Dark Self-Tanning Mousse, applying it in long, sweeping motions using our signature mitt for a seamless finish.
Step 4: Go In With a Second Layer Immediately
Here’s the step that really makes a difference.
“As soon as I finish my first layer, I go straight in with a second layer of Ultra Dark. No waiting - just apply it back-to-back,” she says.
This double application delivers that ultra-deep, rich glow that Tandae is known for.
Step 5: Tanning the Face & Neck
Georgia doesn’t use mousse on her face - instead, she opts for our best-selling Tanning Face Mist.
“I use about five to six sprays across my neck, face, and collarbones. It gives a gorgeous natural glow without clogging pores.”
Always apply to dry, cleansed skin, and make sure any skincare has fully absorbed first.
Step 6: Sleep in It
To lock everything in and let the tan develop, Georgia throws on long-sleeve, full-length pyjamas and heads to bed.
“Wearing long PJs helps avoid transfer and ensures the tan develops evenly while I sleep.”
Optional Step 7: The Next-Day Top-Up
For extra depth, Georgia has one more tip:
“If I’m going on holiday or have a big event, I’ll apply a third layer the next day and let it develop again before rinsing off.”
This creates an ultra-bronzed finish that’s still smooth, radiant, and natural-looking.
Step 8: Maintain the Glow
Post-rinse, it’s all about hydration.
“I use our Oil-Free Body Cream every night to keep my tan looking fresh and to make it last longer.”
Oil-free is key. Anything too rich can break down the tan. This lightweight formula keeps your skin glowing, not greasy.
Bonus: Face Mist Touch-Ups
Georgia refreshes her face every two days, always on dry skin.
“It’s the easiest way to keep my face looking sun-kissed - no streaks, no fuss.”
